"Slow Ya Roll" -You never know what a new day might bring. A car accident on 1/18/18 brought all levels of change to my life. The guy behind me at a stoplight confused the gas for the brake and slammed into me at 40 mph, leaving me with a traumatic brain and neck injury which has slowed me way down... The road to recovery=constant discovery. -"So Far" was inspired by a thirty day cruise I had the gift of taking with my mom, in January, 2017. It took us from Cape Town South Africa, across the Indian Ocean to Singapore. Definitely life changing in ways difficult to articulate. This song is my response. |

LYRICS- TIFFINY, 2013
MUSIC- TIFFINY AND REED
Verse
How it feels to go home,
To no longer roam
Not the journey, but the destination
Safety awaits
There's a peace in that space
A softness that bears no explanation
As I fly through the clouds
The noise is so loud
But can't drown out the voice inside my head
Time in a knot
This bottle's all I've got
To make sense of the stacks that lie ahead
(and that pillow fits just right over my head)
Chorus
Yes it's time to go home
Put down the phone
Time to finish everything you started
**INST. VERSE** to bridge
----------bridge--------
Whatever it looks like
When it's time, it's time
Lay your heart open
Lay it on the line
(I'll see you in that Line)
INST. Half VERSE to chorus
Chorus
It's time to come clean
Surrender to the stream
Time to prepare
For the final healing
If you focus on the prize
Wide open are your eyes
The finish line
Is not too far away
Safety awaits
There's a peace in that space
A softness that bears no explanation

Ahboo's turn
- T. Coffey, 2013
*When we first started recording these songs in 2013, my parents became our key patrons, supporting the band's major expenses of recording and producing. Then my Dad (known by his grandkids as "Ahboo") was diagnosed with a malignant, unexcisable brain tumor. During his decline and our recording process, he suggested a list of names for the project. "
Ahboo's Turn" was first on the list, followed by fifteen other ideas for the CD name, all starting with "Ahboo's.....___".
I decided to write a song for him with this name, rather than name the entire project after it. He passed on September. 1, 2013.
He got to hear it, but, I don't think he really *heard* it. I truly hope he likes the song. I hope you do too.
It's been a long road
bumpy and wide
He's carried his load
and always provides
It's taken him high
To peaks unseen
It's taken him low
And all in between
It's Ahboo's Turn
while we all live and learn
Our road is our own
And we're all going home
Deep inside, we know
a big part of our job
Is to reach out, help God bless others
by blessing them ourselves
All peace that comes
with faith to fly
Our fathers have shown
that love multiplies
It's Ahboo's Turn
while we all live and learn
Our road is our own
And we're all going home.

Perfection -T. Coffey, 2012
Lookin' back through the years
Reckonin’ with my fears
Seein’ pictures of us,
With bad haircuts, rusty cars
You said I’d almost forgot
We’re either in or we’re not
So, the haircuts, the moles,
The warts and all….
Why does it have to be perfection?
When will it ever be perfection?
With all the cracks and the scars
We really have come this far
Yeah it’ll be enough
Perfection
Busy raisin’ that bar
Hopin’ they’ll go that far
Want ‘em only to do the best they can
So , it can’t always be
So let me set myself free
Keep my eyes wide open
For what matters
Chorus
Instrumental Verse
Bridge:
Just “letting go” is the hardest part
Not really sure that I can
I’ll write this song, then I’ll play it out
In my headddddddd
Lookin' back through the years
Reckonin’ with my fears
